Because, the program is designed that you can't use all caps in a post. It will automatically revert them to lower case. Therefore when you go to use capital letter (such as the : and P) it will make the P lower case, and your smiley won't work. :P You have to have lower case letters in your post as well for it to work. ;)

perth WA nice, thats the only state i haven't been to yet. I'm from Adelaide, south australia. I've heard perth is just like a big Adelaide, not as big as Melbourne or Sydney but lots more to do than here.
