How can sports be complete without mentioning CRICKET
If you are a fan of Cricket you can talk about it here. Talk about your favourite Cricketer or your favourite team.

Yeah Cricket's kewl! only going to one test match this year though at Headingley (Leeds)
Went to loads of the Ashes matches last year, they were soooo exciting and the crowd were going crazy!! I went to the Edgbaston (Birmingham) match, and it was so scary!! we only won by like 2 runs - we were really lucky! And we won the ashes back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bis:

The one day matches aren't going to well for us, so am a little worried about going to see them - :'( don't want to watch them to lose:'( - am a bit gutted Vaughny's out, he was my favourite

"Micheal Vaughan my lord, Micheal Vaughan" :yay::ser: :yay:

Any way, let's hope England do well in the cricket - with England out of the world cup, and Murray out of Wimbledon, it's about all we've got! :poze:COME ON ENGLAND!

I am really happy to start this thread. I am sure there will be a lot of Cricket lovers on GamersHood as well http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_3_128.gif

Hey Dazed. Michael Vaughan is my favoirite England cricketer too.
I missed the Ashes :( But I am glad that England got the Ashes back.

My favourite cricketer is Sachin Tendulkar http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/670.gif and Stephen Fleming http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/774.gif. They are superb when it comes to batting. In bowling I like Brett Lee http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/780.gif, Steven Harmison http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/6/6_1_100.gif and Shaun Pollock http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/608.gif.
I had a great time watching World Cup 2003. The final was really interesting. I was so sure that India would win, but I was shattered when they collapsed one after another. But at the end of the day I always support cricket and not any team.

I am following two different series at the moment. Ashes and the series played between India and South Africa.
I am very disappointed to know that England lost the first test. It really breaks my heart. Well I just hope they play better in the second test. I will cheer for England no matter what...Go Go England http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_103v.gif
And I am even more disappointed to see India losing the ODI's against South Africa for the second time. This is really frustrating. How long is the team going to depend on Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.
Rahul Dravid is out of the other two ODI's due to his ingury. That is so typical.
But I will cheer for India too :D Go Go India http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_103v.gif

I think Australia is in serious trouble after the first day's play in the first test against NZ, but no doubt we'll eventually come back. Nobody ever seems to mention women's cricket at all.....which is a real shame, since the women don't get the big pay packets and play with sponsoship and with a real love for the game. Internationally the Aussie women are almost unbeatable. Just for all you cricket lovers out there..here is a little bit of historical fact.....women invented over arm bowling as they used to play in huge hooped ankle length skirts.

ok Ashes time..I know there is a lot of aussie and english members here, so what is everyones thoughts on this series, first test..... well I won't go there with my thoughts. Who will win the series and who will be the stand out player?

I think Australia will win 3-1 with Mitchell Johnson leading with the bat and the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
and Ponting to retire after the series

I'm with you Shooter... i think Australia will win and I think mitchell johnson will do well.
Australia should've won the first test...but it was good to have the upper hand for most of the test! Pity we couldn't convert to a win!!
