I am stuck with a

brick & a paper with a code on it

have also seen

numbers to the left of the fireplace

I've brick, note (with mathematical figures and a track), a code, ruler (used), key (used), battery, a new puzzle in the cabinet. I solved the puzzle on top of the cabinet.

When looking in the fire place, on the right.

On the right of the fireplace, where also the numbers are, on the bottom of the screen

in the right bottom corner of the window. use the ruler to get it.

in the right drawer of the desk. Use the key to open it.

Pay attention to the corners of the windows - they show you the track..

The with white filled triangles (closed decoration) in the corners show you the track

Got battery from

the left part of the cabinet

Solved puzzle in cabinet

Look at the painting with the playing card, and think alphabetically

Got matches, and managed to make fire in the fireplace.

Check the right of the fireplace again after you made fire

Seems I need a torch..

Check fireplace after the fire is out

Found candle

Move the vase above the fire place and the the wall with the hammer a few times.

Made some sort of key

use hammer on brick

And used this "key".. to get light bulb.

I am hammering all walls on floors because I don't really understand the map on the table in the basement. edit: Okay I figured it but, but nothing on that spot.

Edit: I'm stuck badly!

Finally found the spot on the wall!!

That was too much pixel hunting, hmph.

Got another key (used) to get another key (used as well) and got a time and second battery.

Stuck again!

Since I am unfortunately playing alone, I went to EG24 for a break through and found there a hint to find an pickaxe in the basement.

Turn the switch in the hole in the wall to the right. Then hit the wall on the left of the ladder nearby the third rung from below with the hammer.

Hope I don't need anymore hints from there..

Found a small kitchen ladder.

Use small ladder

below clock

Put the batteries

in the back of the clock

Use pickaxe again

after putting the batteries in the clock, go down to the basement again and open the closet. Use the pickaxe on the brick wall

Use light bulb..

behind one of the two masks in the new room. It reflects two spots on the opposite wall.

Left with a candle only.

Found a switch

On top of the mask with the light bulb. It moves the light spots on the opposite wall. I think you have make those spots shine on the eyes of the other mask, but I don't know how, because there isn't a "go down" option as it seems.

Ahh.. there is another switch

on the right of the mask

Got compass

from other mask. You indeed make those light shine in the eyes of the opposite mask.

Use compass

on toilet chair. Movements are the directions for safe.
Click the compass to get a key.

Opened safe and got gold and yet another key.
This game seems endless. edit: But it isn't! I am out!

Hmm - I read hint for window puzzle but I go in circles. I evidently am looking at it wrong ..
Figured it out.
Now need a wadded up newspaper. Just my point of view. Sat on the porch for about 15 minutes while Bailey did his last visit outside for the night. And game back in and a lightbulb came on. Just needed a break. So moving on.
Drawing a bit off .. and what is that? I have sound off so maybe something happened I didn't notice (watching/listening to The Good Wife on TV).
Aha! noticed the ladder can be moved. Thought I was stuck in the basement.
stuck with the pickaxe. Need to look at email - its 11 p.m. here.

clicked all over picture with 3 playing cards on it with pick axe - only picture I see - and nothing happens. Can't get it just to fall to see brick. I did attack fireplace brick - also no results.

So it is now time to head off to bed. This will have to wait for another day - if then.

I only at to look at EG24 for the window, I really didn't get that one and even now I still don't see it.

It wasn't supposed to be a walkthrough, but with all the edits it kinda became one.

For the window and cabinet puzzle

If you look in the corners of the panes, you see small decorations. Some of them are completely white (closed), others are open. The closed decorations show you the track. In other words they form the gates where you should go through.
