How many places have you traveled? The United States has plenty of places to be excited about. And MindJolt’s US Cities game got us thinking about what we really know about the U.S and bring about related games to play.

Let's see how accurate you are in locating the US cities on an empty Map !

So to celebrate, I have done some digging and have come up with 11 cool facts about our home nation, the United States.

Fact 1. Six of the world’s 25 tallest buildings are in the United States (as of 2009).

Fact 2. The official U.S. Mustard Museum is in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.

Fact 3. Americans eat around 100 acres of pizza daily

Fact 4. Flying the U.S. flag up-side-down is acceptable when signaling distress.

Fact 5. Moonbows (rainbows seen at night when the moon is bright and full) can be frequently seen in Hawaii and in Corbin, Kentucky at Cumberland Falls.

Fact 6. College Park Maryland houses America’s oldest (functioning) airport. The Wright Brothers have tested their airplanes there.

Fact 7. Hawaii’s 33,480 foot tall Mauna Kea is the world’s tallest mountain if you account for the amount that is below sea level (only 13,796 is above water).

Fact 8. Rhode Island is not really an “island”. It consists of only a few islands and also contains part of U.S. mainland.

Fact 9. There are over 3 million lakes in Alaska.

Fact 10. The lowest point in the U.S. is in Death Valley, California. It’s 282 feet below sea level.

Fact 11. Indiana’s Courthouse in Greensburg has a tree growing from inside of it.

    Cheers !
