The Harry Potter books are an extremely popular series of fantasy novels by British writer J. K. Rowling. The books depict a world of witches and wizards, the protagonist being the eponymous young wizard Harry Potter. I am sure there will be a lot of fans of Harry Potter books on GamersHood. I know I am a very big fan.

Feel free to discuss the Harry Potter books here http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_1_149v.gif

I love the Harry Potter books. Read all a' them. The swedish versions are very well translated too which is unusual for books written in another language. My brothers family has also read them and so it is a good topic for us to discuss whenever I visit.
I can't wait for the next book ta be published. I hope it will be soon :D

Anyone who reads the books do you think that LV could be dumbledore in disquise and the old LV has killed by dumbldoere but wantd no death eaters to know so that LV could remain dead?
p.s. since dumbldore died he isn't around the good people anymore. That could be a place he went

I agree about the third movie... Too many things not according to the facts in the book. Like him getting the broom all at the end, forexample. And it didn't show them winning the Quiditch cup

@Smallish: Hmm... For me that sounds very unlikely, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see

i just never found the time or have the interest to read the harry potter series i prefer the movies because i read the first one and found the movie better, also i think that people who read the books first think the movies suck because we build this image in our head about how each and every detail, charecter, animal, background and building looks from the descriptions and because they cant make a 6 hour long movie they have to shorten it and exclude details from the book which the readers hate and makes them against it

i know this because i loved eragon & eldest but when the eragon movie came out the dragon look ugly and nothing what i thought it would and the sword looks completly diffrent not to mention arya but what ever its everyones opinions

if your obsessed like some people are..hmhm..me..and want to hear some good theories about the 7th book you should go to mugglenet.com's Mugglecast.com. I looooooove Harry Potter books and i love the movies too.
Sometimes it's easier to think of them sort of separately though, like their not the same thing. Because sometimes the films are a little different to the books.
But they do not suck, they are brilliant!
J.K. Rowling is a genius and Harry Potter is incredible.
I'm getting quite annoyed by people saying that they've already read the 7th book [which isn't out yet] and saying people die and stuff when that's really unfair. Firstly, you couldn't have read it yet, it's not out and secondly you shouldn't go spoiling it for other people.
Yes...so I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to the 5th film and 7th book. I can't believe it'll all be over...

That looks neat, but I'm not sure I'd want to spend all that money for books I already have just to get the box. Maybe if the box itself pops up for sale somewhere I'd consider buying it.

Guess what, somewhere (i forgot where:$) it Says that 2 Important characters are going to die in the 7th book, im sure one of them is Voldemort, but im not sure about the other... anyway just an intresting piece of information for all us HP fans (i read them all ;))

It was on the Richard and Judy show, J.K.Rowling said that one character got a reprieve (for younger readers: THis means that one person who was going to die, won't die anymore because she's changed her mind) she said, as a result of that, two more main characters will die. She stressed that there will be many deaths because - well - it is a war.

What are my thoughts, I hear you ask!

Well if you read Philosopher's stone carefully, particularly the mirror of erised and chess game chapters. You'll see what I'm talking about when I believe that Ron Weasley is the character who was going to die. Now he isn't, as a result, perhaps Hermione and Harry with die? Or perhaps Harry and Ginny?

I firmly believe that Harry will die in this next book. Simply because - as an author - I would only name my series "Harry Potter" for one sole purpose. To emphasise the fact that the series is the legacy of Harry Potter. The books started with his birth. It'll end with his death.

Just a tiny reminder:

Please remember not to give out details/facts about the books as this spoils the reading of them by those who have not had a chance. In some cultures the books arrive later because they are written in different laungages. This takes time. So, even giving away past info may spoil the plots for our members whos' first language is not English. I will edit posts if I see facts being given away.

I hate using cliches, but the books are much better. Especially after the first two.

I'm done book 7 now. The book was a very good end to the series in my opinion. I think those who haven't read it yet will be very pleased if they enjoyed all of the other books.

I agree that the books are much better than the films. The films miss out so much.
But i think that if you only watch the films and don't read the books then you won't notice this so that's okay.
I do enjoy the films though.

I can't believe it's all over...

Okay, everyone. This is a thread about Harry Potter, tell me what you think about the books and the movies and who's your favourite characters and all that blah blah... no, I did NOT create Harry Potter, JK Rowling did. Now, I know one person on here that is a Harry Potter fanatic (like me): Mcakkay.
So please tell me what you think of it. Now, if you've read my threads before, there are a few rules:
i. No critisizing anyone on here
ii. No rude words or things
iii. Respect people on here
Well, you can all remember that, so... Happy Typing!

My response about Harry Potter is...

Im pretty sure you guys have read the fan fiction of James Potter. If not theres a good website up by the man who wrote the book. www.elderscrossing.com

I have read it through once and it was pretty decent, although he doesnt have the flair and dramatic suspense that Rowling does.

I have read through the Harry Potter series no less then 5 times.
I do agree the movies lack the feel that the books do, but if they put in every detail, the movies would be like 5 hours long, easy. lol
The movies do lend a good visual aspect to those who lack a vivid imagination :)
