Not sure if you have your answer already but here is what you can do.
If you go to the thread and you see that you have to post 30 you can either first check Who's online before you post 30 and if there is no one you can choose not to post 30 or you can post 30 but say that there is no one online and that the next poster will have to say a name.
I choose not to post and to wait untill there is someone online, but that's just me
