To get the knife
get the key from the manger scene thing (it looks like a cane) and use it on the right cabinet in the same room

All ive done is got the rod from a snowman and used it to get a piece of wood from the fence now im stuck

right when you walk out of the starting room make a right and go as far down the hall as you can and go through the door. click the pipes and turn them so that both sides of the board on the right...
