I clicked on the red thing in the upper right corner and it came down a little. I opened the pink box and used that object combined wth a couple other things to get the blue thing. Now I'm just sort of stuck clicking all over the place and trying to use my inventory items on things.

You can also take a glass from the shelf.
And: check the treasure chest carefully for an item (this is what I was missing all the time, lol

I have seen the place in the treasure chest it's on the left middle? A faint outline of a rectangle around two of the black spots? Is that what you mean? I have been trying to click all over that and use all my inventory items on it but nothing happens...
