My morning laugh:

While reading the June issue of Reader's Digest,on pg. 84,in an article titled "America's Best Kept Travel Secrets" was this little gem:

New Mexico: You've seen the Aztec ruins,but you should really see...." then it goes on to describe the Blue Hole,a natural formation in the state of New Mexico.

What's so funny? you ask. Well,moving the Aztec ruins in Mexico several hundred miles north to the United States. The ruins in NEW Mexico,a US state,are those of the Anasazi,not the Aztecs. Apparently the editor of the piece,an NYU alumni,doesn't get out west very much

It's something we're used to out here,even a lot of my fellow Americans don't know much about our state (5th largest at 121,589 sq miles,population slightly over 2 million,became a state in 1912).

I sent them an email,wonder if they'll have a correction next issue

Actually I do know where there's some gold not too far from here,but I think I'd have to pan out a couple of truckloads to get enough to make my wife a pair of stud earrings

We're off tomorrow to go camping & fishing here,for some reason we've never been there. We had planned to go to the Gila Wilderness or the Lincoln Nat'l Forest but seein' as they're both on fire we figured it'd be best if we went north.
