To pick up stuff hold the left mouse button on the item. The three options will pop up.

I have a remote, I've seen some numbers on the mirror and a gun on the TV set which I cannot reach.

I figured out how to use items so now I've seen the message on the TV.

I was taken by surprise by all the interest and my bandwidth was eaten up in one day
Sorry for the naff ending.. by time you are able to stand up the game engine started playing up, so everything after that point was a work around just to get something playable to the end..

I MIGHT re do it but it wont be Flash, its likely to be a panoramic like Scratches, and done how it was originally intended, ie you could shot or chop off limbs and die if you aren't quick enough and you'd be able to escape.. the odd looking plate above the direction controls was the hurt meter lol

opened the broken tile with the romote, now got a saw and cut up the pipes
