Thanks Becky. My old reliable sites have all changed so much (most want $$) I knew I could count on GH for fresh ideas.
How did the terms Google Spider and Yahoo! Slurp Spider originate? When viewing Whos Online I see those quite a bit mingled with Guests.
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly, but those are just bots who gather information for the search engines google and yahoo.
If you mean how the software of this site recognize them as bots, probably because the host of the IP they use share this info. In example lj513391.crawl.yahoo.net
